Chateau De Berne Estate

Produced from old-vine Grenache, this wine is lightly wood aged. That enhances the richness of the concentrated red fruits and produces a ripe wine, spicy and intense. The wine is ready to drink although it can be aged for at least another two years. ROGER VOSS

Tasting Notes

Color: The faintest of pinks in color almost pastel in likeness with some light red currant highlights.

Hear From Our Winemaker

Nose: Complex with delicate aromas of cherry and raspberry and light unexpected notes of mint and herbs like anise.

Taste: This is an exquisite dry wine first, a rosé second. It has similar aromatic complexity on the palate. Lean with flavors of cranberry and raspberry accented by an elegant mineral finish from the limestone of the terroir. A truly elegant Provençal rosé.

Terroir

The Plateau (altitude 330 m), characterized by an impoverished, stony soil. This zone is reserved for the finest vintages, as its yield is limited.
Le Château (altitude 250 m), characterized by a very different type of soil, with much larger proportions of sand, a generally finer texture and less stones, producing zesty rosés. Its shallow, well-drained soil is ideal for the vines.
This mainly chalky terroir, perfect for growing numerous grape varieties, lends the wines their refreshing, mineral taste.
